Chapter 40: Shizun Shows Off His Skills
Meng Baixu immediately tucked the two little cubs in, put on his clothes, and rushed outside.
“Let’s go.”
After taking two steps, he turned around to check whether Shizun was following. The moment he turned, he nearly collided with Wen Tingshu’s shoulder.
At least the man knew what was good for him.
After leaving the room, Meng Baixu suddenly stopped again.
Wen Tingshu’s palm tightened slightly, but his tone remained unchanged. “Perhaps we should rest early after all. You still have to attend the cultivation conference tomorrow.”
Meng Baixu said, “Carry me.”
Wowo and Nangnang had both been carried on his back. Shizun had never carried him.
Without another word, Wen Tingshu crouched down.
Meng Baixu swept all of Shizun’s white hair aside and pressed his chest against Shizun’s broad, straight back. His eyes curved with satisfaction. He hooked both arms around Wen Tingshu’s front and, recalling the contents of the illustrated books, tentatively slid one slender, pale hand into Wen Tingshu’s collar.
Wen Tingshu’s body visibly stiffened at the teasing. Meng Baixu felt the hands supporting his bottom tighten slightly.
This must be torture for Wen Tingshu.
Meng Baixu wrapped both legs around Wen Tingshu’s waist as well. His foot suddenly stepped against something unmistakably unusual.
Oh no. This was torture for this sect leader too.
Would Wen Tingshu suppress him again tonight and prevent him from blocking the pain?
The great demon’s ankles trembled slightly. He somewhat wanted to flee before the battle began.
“Brother Wen.”
Without warning, Jia Liance’s greeting came from beneath the opposite corridor.
Meng Baixu hurriedly pulled his hand out. His fingernails even caught Wen Tingshu’s collar, producing the sound of threads being scraped. He instinctively tried to climb down from Wen Tingshu’s back, but two large hands pressed against the roots of his thighs, preventing him from moving at all.
Wen Tingshu was calmer than Meng Baixu had imagined. “Brother Jia, why are you still awake? Have I failed to receive you properly?”
Jia Liance said, “Old people sleep less. I came out to admire the moon. The moon on your Hengxue Mountain really is rounder than elsewhere.”
Wen Tingshu nodded. “Lanshe is going beneath the cold pond to cultivate. Excuse us.”
Jia Liance said, “Go cultivate. Don’t mind me.”
Watching Wen Tingshu carry his Dao companion toward the mountain behind the hall, Jia Liance could not help sighing.
An old husband and young wife truly were affectionate. Even after having two children, they were still this loving.
Among the three swordsmen of cultivation, in the end, only Wen Tingshu—the one least likely to marry—had married. Both he and Brother Xie had been left with regrets.
A whirlpool formed on the cold pond’s surface, growing larger and larger until it transformed into a doorway. Carrying Meng Baixu, Wen Tingshu leapt inside and landed steadily. Above them, the water returned to a mirror-like calm.
The underground space was completely like an ice cellar. The treasures that had once glittered brilliantly within the icy compartments on the walls had all been looted, making the surroundings look rather plain.
Wen Tingshu swept his gaze across the walls, seemingly searching for something.
Meng Baixu asked, “What are you looking for?”
Wen Tingshu said, “A demon beast’s inner core. It can test blood relations between mother and child.”
Meng Baixu said, “Oh, I took that long ago.”
While tidying the room that morning, Wen Tingshu had picked up the aphrodisiac pill Meng Baixu had thrown onto the floor and accidentally noticed the demon beast’s inner core that had rolled beneath the table.
Lanshe had run away only after learning he was pregnant.
Had he not become pregnant, perhaps he could have remained undercover longer.
No, not much longer. If he stayed too long, he would have noticed the two small Yuan Cores that had appeared inside his body himself.
Wen Tingshu asked, “Why didn’t you remain on Hengxue Mountain to carry the children? Could the people in your sect take proper care of you?”
Meng Baixu said, “What if you made me abort them?”
Wen Tingshu asked, “In your heart, is Shizun that sort of person?”
The moment Meng Baixu heard that tone, he inwardly knew things were going badly. “Let’s agree in advance. Today, I’ll only sleep with you if I can block the pain.”
Wen Tingshu said, “No.”
Meng Baixu widened his eyes. This dog of a man was not even willing to tell him a few lies to coax him.
Wen Tingshu continued searching the wall. Suddenly, he found something shaped like a shell, took it down, and tossed it outward. The shell enlarged on the spot until it was the size of a large canopy bed. The opened interior was smooth, warm, and lustrous—an excellent warm bed within this ice cellar.
Wen Tingshu said, “We’ll do it here.”
Meng Baixu felt something was strange.
Oh. What was strange was that this sect leader had lost the initiative.
He immediately revived his imposing manner, stepped onto the shell bed, crossed one leg over the other, and ordered, “Wen Tingshu, take off your clothes.”
Wen Tingshu did not move for a moment.
Meng Baixu immediately felt pleased. This sect leader had plenty of methods for forcing a virtuous man into prostitution. Delightedly admiring the righteous path’s leader’s embarrassment, he took a wine pot from his qiankun pouch.
Oh. There was no wine, only sugar water.
He poured himself a bowl of sugar water and was drinking it when the bed beneath his bottom suddenly shook. The sugar water swayed and flowed down his collarbone into his clothes.
Meng Baixu was about to use a spell to remove the sticky sugar water when he suddenly discovered that his magic had once again been suppressed.
“Wen Tingshu!”
When he raised his eyes again, Wen Tingshu had somehow already removed his clothes.
The great demon’s dark pupils trembled.
Although he had already given birth to Wowo and Nangnang, he had only slept with Wen Tingshu once. That time, Wen Tingshu had initially kept his clothes on, maintaining the appearance of a proper gentleman as he detoxified his disciple. Later, his clothes became filthy, and their skin remained pressed together throughout the entire process. Meng Baixu had never had the chance to see the whole picture.
The wrist holding the bowl of sugar water was grasped. He was like a slender cotton flower that would split open once plucked, revealing its soft, white center.
Meng Baixu swallowed. Shizun had a full head of white hair and a body like ice and iron, while the great demon resembled a fully ripened peach, pink spreading across his entire body.
“Old thing, give—give my magic back.”
He hated being as weak and helpless as a mortal most of all!
As Wen Tingshu undid Lanshe’s clothes, he said, “Without pain, you won’t feel anything at all.”
“This time, I’ll be gentle. I won’t let it hurt. All right?”
A kiss landed at the corner of his eye. Meng Baixu’s eyelashes trembled, and he was bewitched.
F-Fine.
The five senses were connected, with sorrow and joy sharing the same root. Blocking pain was equivalent to reducing the body’s sensitivity, and pleasure would disappear along with it.
He did not want to be a walking corpse. He wanted to carefully feel the tenderness of being intimately entwined with Shizun.
***
It was simply a little too gentle.
Meng Baixu truly did not hurt, but when Wen Tingshu gently licked the sugar water from his chest, the top of his skull nearly exploded!
He felt like a hermit crab living inside a shell, with a pearl forcibly pushed into his softest place and ground against him over and over.
But he was not a mother oyster that produced pearls.
The great demon’s tears were larger than pearls.
Wen Tingshu, this wicked pearl cultivator, caught every pearl Meng Baixu shed in his mouth.
The great demon was nearly ground apart, yet the pearl remained incomparably hard.
Meng Baixu grew angry whenever he saw that length.
“Enough, enough! This sect leader still has to attend the cultivation conference tomorrow and announce the cultivation corridor’s full opening!”
Meng Baixu angrily pushed Wen Tingshu away.
It did not hurt, but it was even more torturous than pain.
The clouds dispersed and the rain ceased. Wen Tingshu released Meng Baixu.
Meng Baixu looked at him suspiciously. “You’re being so obedient. Could it be that without taking medicine, you can only do it once?”
Wen Tingshu inhaled deeply. “Lanshe, I am letting you go.”
Tonight, he had only wanted Meng Baixu to understand that such matters did not have to hurt. They could be tender and lingering. What he knew was not limited to crudely administering an antidote.
“Wu!”
Meng Baixu’s body trembled.
He had spoken too soon. Wen Tingshu’s fingers were still inside, and he had actually dared press against him.
“I spoke wrongly!”
Meng Baixu sensibly wrapped his arms around Wen Tingshu’s waist. “Let’s go back. Wowo and Nangnang may need to pee in the middle of the night and discover that neither of their daddies is there.”
Wen Tingshu supported his bottom with one hand and stood up. “All right.”
He had only done it once because he was also considering the children. He and Lanshe would soon be leaving. Before they left, they could not spend every night fooling around while neglecting the children.
Meng Baixu closed his eyes and lay against Wen Tingshu’s back. After emerging from the cold pond, moonlight fell upon him and cooled some of the heat in his flushed face.
His thoughts cleared somewhat, and he suddenly realized something.
Had Shizun been showing off his skills tonight?
It seemed he had served Meng Baixu the entire time… although he had not neglected the rear either.
Wen Tingshu, that old thing, was far too capable.
Why had he suddenly become so impatient to perform?
Meng Baixu was not stupid. He immediately thought of the reason.
“Shizun, are you afraid my father won’t approve?”
Was that why he was desperately currying favor with this sect leader before Meng Fuguang came out?
With his selfish thoughts exposed, Wen Tingshu was rarely somewhat uncomfortable. “Mn.”
Lanshe had always been clever.
Meng Baixu snickered twice. You five-hundred-year-old thing, you’re actually afraid of Meng Fuguang? Show the imposing manner you use when fighting demons.
Meng Baixu said, “My father can’t beat you.”
Wen Tingshu said, “…Mn.”
Meng Baixu asked, “Then what are you afraid of?”
Wen Tingshu said, “The command of parents and the words of a matchmaker cannot be resolved with force. In the future, if someone defeats me, would they be able to take Wowo and Nangnang away?”
“You’re number one under heaven.” Meng Baixu thought for a moment, then added, “Then Shizun must maintain your standard.”
Wen Tingshu said, “All right.”
Meng Baixu rested his chin in the hollow of Shizun’s shoulder. “Shizun, teach me the puppet technique. I’ll leave a clone on Hengxue Mountain to take care of Wowo and Nangnang.”
Wen Tingshu’s steps paused.
Puppets would suffer the malice of others. He did not want Lanshe to face such things.
“I won’t teach you.”
Meng Baixu said, “You won’t teach me this, and you won’t teach me that. You are unworthy of being a teacher!”
Wen Tingshu said, “Mn. I am not your Shifu.”
Meng Baixu said, “I insist on learning. All your hair has turned white, so only I can learn it now. Otherwise, when your sons cry, who will coax them?”
At this moment, for the first time, Wen Tingshu regretted that not a single black strand remained among his white hair.
At the time, he had ignored everything and only wanted to find Lanshe, unaware that two children were also waiting for him to care for them.
Meng Baixu said, “If you don’t teach me, I’ll learn recklessly. I’ve already seen a little of it in Fuguang Sect. If I learn something distorted and lose control of the puppet, this sect leader may go mad and beat your sons on Hengxue Mountain.”
Wen Tingshu: “…”
He could only agree.
The next day, Meng Baixu went to the cultivation conference feeling refreshed. This was the conference’s final meeting between sect leaders, and everyone present was wealthy.
Oh, perhaps the black-faced man from the sword sect was a little poorer. After all, his sect had been repaying debts for several years.
Wen Tingshu’s cultivation conference truly was worth holding.
Most of these sect leaders normally lived in seclusion, dedicating their entire lives to achieving breakthroughs. This was especially true for sects located on the continent’s western side. If they had no reason to cross Yongzhou City, they would never become customers of the cultivation corridor.
Indeed, the cultivation world needed much more internal communication.
When Meng Baixu appeared, everyone restrained themselves for Wen Tingshu’s sake. No one directly called him a demon. They politely addressed him as Sect Leader.
Meng Baixu said, “This sect leader has good news to announce today. My sect spent an enormous sum constructing the cultivation corridor for fifty years. Today, it has finally opened. Traveling from eastern Yongzhou to western Yongzhou takes only half an hour. The toll is six thousand spirit stones!”
Half an hour!
No one had expected the good news brought by the demon to actually be good news!
The higher a cultivator’s status and cultivation, the more they disliked passing through Yongzhou City. The moment they entered Yongzhou, they became cripples. They possessed cultivation but could not use it and could even be humiliated by mortals. It was simply an extraordinary disgrace.
One could not blame them for disliking travel. But with the cultivation corridor, they would at least tour the Divine Continent once a year.
The cultivation corridor struck directly at every sect leader’s greatest problem.
Fuguang Sect had spent an entire fifty years constructing it. That meant construction had begun during Meng Fuguang’s generation.
The most criticized aspect of Fuguang Sect was how it used secret realms to amass wealth while refusing to guarantee the survival of cultivators who entered them.
It turned out there had been a reason for accumulating all that wealth.
No wonder Sect Master Wen had chosen to reconcile with Fuguang Sect.
Sect Master Wen was a saint. Any choice he made must have been for the benefit of the vast majority of cultivators, even if that decision caused him to bear some criticism.
The sect leaders who had previously objected to Wen Tingshu could not help reflecting on themselves.
How had they dared question a saint’s virtue?
“Sect Leader’s righteousness is admirable. This Daoist Xuyang thanks you here.” Daoist Xuyang’s sect was in the east, but he had suffered a minor injury to his left leg during cultivation. Every year, he needed to spend some time recuperating on a particular mountain in the west. Previously, he could only endure the pain because he did not want to pass through the mortal world limping like a cripple. Now, he was finally relieved.
“I, Qianling, propose that from now on, no one be allowed to call Fuguang Sect a demon sect.” Qianling belonged to a female cultivator sect in the east. Her close sister sect was located in the west. Because there were always shameless mortals who fantasized about and plotted against divine maidens, wanting female cultivators whose beauty did not fade to remain and become their wives, female cultivators disliked crossing Yongzhou City. The sisters could not reunite often.
Meng Baixu: “…”
Why was no one calling him a profiteering demon and saying six thousand was too expensive?
This sect leader had even left them room to bargain.
