Chapter 31: A Little Heart
Meng Weiyu sat in the very center of the pantry. After finishing his Coke, he drank orange juice, stubbornly refusing to go back upstairs and continue working.
Shen Zhoudu’s company exploited labor too much!
At first, he had wanted to help properly. But even though he worked desperately hard, the documents still never seemed to end. By the time he finished the last set of materials, his vision was blurry and his head was swollen. He almost collapsed directly onto the sofa and fainted.
“Mr. Meng, you haven’t come here in a long time.” Someone was using the machine beside him to make coffee and chatted with Meng Weiyu along the way.
They clearly were not seeing Meng Weiyu for the first time. They knew exactly how naturally familiar he was with people, and that anyone could come up and chat with him for a few lines.
“Really? Did I come here often before?” Meng Weiyu chuckled softly and raised his hand to drink, hiding his emotions.
“About two or three times a week,” that person said with a smile. “Mr. Meng gets off work earlier, and President Shen prefers working overtime, so sometimes you would come over in the afternoon.”
“Hehe.” Meng Weiyu felt that he was so annoying.
“You two were still very loving even years after getting married.” There was some envy in that person’s tone.
“We were very loving?” Meng Weiyu tried to peek into the past he did not know through other people’s perception.
Because Shen Zhoudu had not told him much.
“Extremely loving!” No one who had seen the two of them interact would doubt their feelings.
Meng Weiyu slightly raised his chin and continued probing, “Then what kind of person was I?”
“Ah?” The question came suddenly and for no apparent reason, but the employee still answered, “Very charismatic as a leader, decisive and efficient in handling things, seemed to have a good temper—but somehow, you just knew this kind of person wasn’t easy to get along with?”
Meng Weiyu laughed in astonishment.
That employee also laughed.
Inside the pantry, more and more people gathered, while fewer and fewer people remained at their workstations.
Seeing this, the person in charge could only bitterly call Shen Zhoudu’s office.
Someone, please save the work this morning.
“Mr. Meng, why don’t you want to go home with President Shen tonight?” Someone believed Meng Weiyu’s nonsense and followed his words.
Meng Weiyu was the type who, once he chatted happily, would start talking wildly. Whether others dared to believe his nonsense or not was none of his concern. He only wanted to speak to his heart’s content and coax others until they doubted life.
“I’ve already gotten tired of playing with President Shen. I’ll favor someone else instead.” Meng Weiyu joked with a serious face.
He waited for the others to react by laughing, but the scene suddenly fell silent. Everyone looked behind him, their expressions stiff.
Meng Weiyu revealed a puzzled expression.
Suddenly, a hand landed on Meng Weiyu’s shoulder. Following the curve of his body, it slowly lowered, like a cold venomous snake coiling around him.
Meng Weiyu recognized the watch and ring on that hand, so naturally, he also knew who was standing behind him.
“Mr. Meng, you haven’t finished developing me yet. How could you already have thoughts of getting tired of playing with me?” A magnetic voice sounded in a low tone. With a practiced technique, he accurately delivered his voice only into one person’s ear.
Meng Weiyu was like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. He jolted and immediately turned his head.
Shen Zhoudu placed one hand in front of his body, pushed up his glasses with the other, changed into a cold tone, and at the same time projected his voice outward. “It’s time to work. Go back.”
The moment Shen Zhoudu spoke, the employees crowded in the pantry slowly shifted their steps. One by one, they felt their way toward the door, then rushed out one after another.
Very quickly, only two people were left there.
“Go back with me,” Shen Zhoudu said irritably.
Meng Weiyu opened the new bottle of drink on the table. After inserting the straw, he brought it to Shen Zhoudu’s mouth.
Shen Zhoudu had drunk a cup of coffee not long ago and no longer wanted water. But because it was something Meng Weiyu had handed over, he still reluctantly took a sip.
“Hehe.” Meng Weiyu laughed.
“You still dare to laugh.” Shen Zhoudu was about to die of anger because of him. “Because of you, half the floor stopped working. Come back with me.”
“Fine.” Meng Weiyu put down the drink without struggling and sighed in satisfaction. “So many people chatted with me, and I’ve had enough fun. Since that’s the case, I’ll go home, pet the cat, and watch movies.”
Meng Weiyu had simply gone too long without being around a group of people. Now, he had grown tired from handling documents, and his wish to chat with people had also been fulfilled. So he already felt satisfied and could go home.
Meng Weiyu smiled innocently and brilliantly. The next second, Shen Zhoudu lifted him from behind, made him leave the chair, and pushed him toward the elevator doors.
“You beast! Don’t think I’ll compromise just because you use such forceful methods—ah, you’re actually pushing me with force!” Meng Weiyu’s voice disappeared inside the elevator.
Meng Weiyu was caught by Shen Zhoudu and brought back to the office. Then he miserably started working again.
During the lunch break, Shen Zhoudu carried Meng Weiyu off to eat lunch, and after eating, he gave him the place for napping.
Meng Weiyu closed his eyes and lay down on the sofa, deciding that before Shen Zhoudu got off work, he would not open his eyes.
Some time passed. The watch made a clear “click” sound.
Meng Weiyu frowned and planned to turn over, stuffing his body into the sofa.
“Xiao Yu.” A large, warm palm pressed down on Meng Weiyu’s shoulder. “Get up and work.”
With his eyes closed, Meng Weiyu said, “Are you human?”
“You were the one who said you wanted to work.” Shen Zhoudu did not think he had any problem.
Meng Weiyu got up with a miserable face.
Shen Zhoudu laughed as he watched. He stood in front of Meng Weiyu and looked at him with a head of messy hair, eyes barely able to open. Kindly, he pointed at his own cheek and seriously offered him an idea. “Kiss me once, and I’ll let you go home.”
“I can’t do something like selling my mouth.” Meng Weiyu refused righteously.
Shen Zhoudu shrugged.
Suit yourself.
Actually, if Meng Weiyu truly did not want to stay here and work, he could contact Lin Xiao to come pick him up and take him home, or simply lie flat on the spot and do nothing. But because of his personality, although his lifestyle was not serious at all, when it came time to do something, he was never vague.
He spread open the pile of folders beside him and buried his head in work.
His way of working was different from Shen Zhoudu’s. Shen Zhoudu always set fixed times for work and rest, strictly following the schedule. Meng Weiyu was the type who, once he started working, would completely lose the ability to pull himself away until all the work was finished.
During his break, Shen Zhoudu took the fruit Ye Hongxu had sent in and brought it to Meng Weiyu’s mouth.
Meng Weiyu opened his mouth and ate it without thinking much.
“Do you want to rest for a bit?” Shen Zhoudu glanced at the time on his watch.
“No rest.” Meng Weiyu hated having his train of thought interrupted.
Shen Zhoudu put down the fruit plate, picked up the cup of water with a straw inserted into it, and brought it to Meng Weiyu’s mouth.
Meng Weiyu opened his mouth, took a sip of water, then had him move it away.
“Ha.” Although Shen Zhoudu had long known what kind of life Meng Weiyu’s assistant lived, now that it was his turn to do these things, he still found it fresh.
Meng Weiyu had no time to pay attention to him at all.
Shen Zhoudu stood up and secretly took away several documents.
Ye Hongxu’s attitude toward work was too serious, and he had unfortunately encountered the unwilling-to-lose Meng Weiyu. If Shen Zhoudu did not mediate between them, the two of them together would turn into a perpetual motion machine for work.
Meng Weiyu did not notice Shen Zhoudu’s little movement and continued seriously checking the data.
“We’re getting off work at five today,” Shen Zhoudu told him.
Hearing this, Meng Weiyu finally raised his head and glanced at him.
“I’ll take you to get your hair trimmed.” Shen Zhoudu had calculated the time. “After the haircut, we’ll go eat together. Is there anything you want to eat?”
“Then… pasta.” Meng Weiyu’s hand pointed at the place he had just been reading.
“Okay.” Shen Zhoudu stopped disturbing him.
After Meng Weiyu learned that Shen Zhoudu would take him away at five in the afternoon, he estimated the remaining work in his hands, and his movements became faster and faster.
Five in the afternoon.
“Click.” The time Shen Zhoudu had set arrived.
“Smack!” Meng Weiyu simultaneously tossed the pen in his hand aside and collapsed onto the sofa, panting.
He had finally completed this endless stack of work.
“Mm, mm, mm. You did well.” Shen Zhoudu smiled and praised Meng Weiyu. He conveniently shut down his computer, then walked toward him.
“I never want to accompany you to the company again.” Meng Weiyu’s eyes were watery as he rubbed back and forth on the sofa.
“Did you finish everything?” Shen Zhoudu stopped on the other side of the sofa, his thigh blocking the edge to prevent Meng Weiyu from rolling off the sofa in his collapse.
Just as he expected, in order to chat with him, Meng Weiyu rolled over and directly rolled to the edge of the sofa. Luckily, Shen Zhoudu’s thigh was blocking him, so he did not fall.
“I finished everything. Hurry up and take me away from this place.” Meng Weiyu was barely alive.
Shen Zhoudu’s thigh continued blocking his body. Then he picked up the last set of materials, flipped through it, and asked suspiciously, “Really?”
“Could it be fake?” Meng Weiyu asked back unhappily.
While holding the open document, Shen Zhoudu handed the last folder to Meng Weiyu.
Meng Weiyu accepted the materials with both hands and looked up at Shen Zhoudu in confusion. This really was the last page. He was not the kind of careless person who would miss something.
“Turn the page,” Shen Zhoudu told him.
Meng Weiyu flipped over the last page.
He had already processed more than a dozen folders of documents, so he knew that the last page was purely blank paper.
This time, after he turned it over, there was a symmetrical heart drawn with blue ballpoint pen on the back of the blank sheet.
Meng Weiyu froze. Then he looked at Shen Zhoudu with a baffled gaze and asked, “What are you doing?”
When had he drawn this? This man was too bored.
“Weren’t you curious about what was going on with that heart?” Shen Zhoudu could not help laughing. “As payment for your hard work today, I’ll explain it to the amnesiac Meng Weiyu.”
The young Shen Zhoudu’s personality was exactly as Meng Weiyu imagined. There was no difference. He was indeed proud, awkward, and did not know how to express himself. For a person like that, showing goodwill to others was difficult, let alone expressing love to someone he was destined to struggle to obtain.
In the beginning, Shen Zhoudu had indeed had that kind of mindset. He wanted to show goodwill, but because of his pride, he endured all kinds of torment.
But that period passed very quickly.
Shen Zhoudu was not the kind of person who remained stuck in his current state.
During the period when they exchanged notebooks, his thick skin had already reached an astonishing level.
That day, when he received the notebook, he discovered that Meng Weiyu had casually drawn a crooked little heart on the side. So, without the slightest psychological barrier, he directly replied with another heart.
Although this heart contained a great deal of selfishness.
The reason Shen Zhoudu laughed whenever he remembered this matter was that compared to him, Meng Weiyu’s reaction after seeing that heart had been far more intense.
“You’re not allowed to draw hearts for me.” After school, Meng Weiyu had specifically gone to block Shen Zhoudu, who was about to go home, and warned him seriously.
“You drew one for me first, so I drew one for you.” Shen Zhoudu carried his schoolbag and looked at Meng Weiyu, who had kabedon’d him. His eyes shifted, and he asked curiously, “Weren’t you the one who told me not to be too intimate with you at school?”
“There’s no one here.” Meng Weiyu had already observed their surroundings. “Anyway, you’re not allowed to draw hearts for me in the future.”
“I don’t especially want to draw them for you.” Shen Zhoudu refused to admit it. “But why?”
“It gives me the feeling that your aloof persona has collapsed.” Meng Weiyu covered his mouth and turned his head away uncomfortably, feeling disillusioned.
Shen Zhoudu said, “You misunderstood. I’m not aloof at all.”
“You’re lying.”
“I’m not.”
“Then from now on, every message you send me has to have a heart in every sentence. Prove it.” Meng Weiyu demanded, beginning to tease Shen Zhoudu.
Shen Zhoudu fell silent.
“See? You can’t do it. I can do it.”
Shen Zhoudu thought this: “You’re too frivolous.”
“You’re frivolous too.”
“I’m not frivolous.”
He had clearly only ever drawn a heart for Meng Weiyu. How could that be called frivolous?
“This experience.” After listening to Shen Zhoudu’s story, Meng Weiyu felt something stuck in his throat. “You could’ve just told me directly last night!”
Did he know that because Meng Weiyu was curious, he had not been able to sleep at all?
“Watching you shout and make a fuss was very interesting.” Shen Zhoudu rarely spoke so wickedly.
Meng Weiyu gritted his teeth and said, “I’m going to divorce a scumbag like you.”
Hearing this, Shen Zhoudu picked up the pen Meng Weiyu had thrown onto the table, pulled a blank sheet of paper from the folder, and began writing on it. He said, “Then I’ll give you my signature.”
Meng Weiyu froze.
A signature on a blank sheet of paper—what would it be used for? Was he supposed to fill in the divorce agreement however he liked?
The moment Meng Weiyu thought of this possibility, before his mind could react, his heart surged with anger like erupting magma and grievance like a dead lake.
Do you want to die?
Do you want me to take you with me to death?
What do you mean?
After Shen Zhoudu finished signing, he handed the blank paper to Meng Weiyu and said, “Take it and use it however you want.”
Meng Weiyu unhappily reached out and snatched the paper away. Then he successfully saw that the name signed on it was: Meng Weiyu’s husband, with two hearts close together attached.
“You… are playing with me?” The corner of Meng Weiyu’s mouth twitched.
“Off work.” Shen Zhoudu put the pen cap back in its original place, put away the pen, then clipped it onto the white paper Meng Weiyu was holding.
Meng Weiyu threw the paper and pen onto the table, silently protesting Shen Zhoudu’s countless evil deeds.
The two maintained this posture—one standing and looking down, the other sitting and looking up—silently facing off until a third person appeared.
Ye Hongxu said, “If the two of you are giving up on getting off work early today, I still have one document I’d like you to handle.”
Hearing this, Meng Weiyu said nothing and got up to run.
Shen Zhoudu leisurely followed behind him.
The two of them stayed inside the descending elevator. Meng Weiyu glared fiercely at the elevator doors, taking his anger out on others. “No wonder you two work together. You’re both too perverted.”
Shen Zhoudu stood beside him without responding. In reality, his inner thoughts were: You, who obediently finished all the work, are also quite perverted.
After leaving the company, Shen Zhoudu first took Meng Weiyu to get his hair trimmed. The hairstylist was familiar with Meng Weiyu and told him to leave his hairstyle to him with confidence. Then he busied himself for a while.
Shen Zhoudu sat at the side reading a magazine. While turning a page, he heard the hairstylist and Meng Weiyu discussing how to take care of the hairstyle. It seemed the haircut was already finished.
Curious, he put down the magazine and walked over.
The hairstylist was facing the mirror, brushing aside Meng Weiyu’s hair and tidying it slightly.
Under the light, Meng Weiyu’s beauty was especially dazzling.
Shen Zhoudu was stunned for a moment, but he was not bewitched by the beauty for too long. Expressionlessly, he asked, “After cutting it, what’s the difference from not cutting it?”
“Mr. Meng’s usual request is like this.” The hairstylist looked proud, as if saying, “Say no more, I understand everything.”
Meng Weiyu stretched his hand out from under the cape and grabbed at his bangs, which at least no longer blocked his eyes.
“Do you like it like this?” Shen Zhoudu first confirmed Meng Weiyu’s opinion.
“I don’t really care, but if I go see Grandpa and the others like this, I feel like I’ll be lectured.” Meng Weiyu turned his face sideways and examined his current hairstyle. This was the frivolous style his grandfather had the strongest opinion about.
“Cut it shorter.” Shen Zhoudu stated the new request concisely.
The moment he said this, among the three people, the saddest one was the hairstylist.
Shen Zhoudu cruelly and mercilessly ignored him, returned to his original seat, and opened the magazine again.
Not long after, Meng Weiyu’s new hairstyle was finished. When he stood up from the chair, Shen Zhoudu had left his seat and gone outside to answer a phone call.
Meng Weiyu put both hands in his pants pockets and walked out with light steps.
“Mm, mm. Then let’s do that.” Shen Zhoudu was communicating about work on the phone. Suddenly, footsteps came from behind him. He thought an ordinary customer had come out from inside, so he moved aside to make way. The more he moved, the more hurried the footsteps behind him became. Shen Zhoudu seemed to realize something and turned his head.
A beautiful face entered Shen Zhoudu’s eyes. Meng Weiyu had cut his originally overlong hair much shorter. The layered short hair was light and airy, full of a refreshing youthful feeling.
Shen Zhoudu’s pupils slightly widened. Pale blue eyes conveyed emotions more easily than black ones.
“Handle the rest. I have something to do. I’m hanging up.” Shen Zhoudu ended the call.
“It’s done.” Meng Weiyu proudly flicked his short hair.
“Good.” Shen Zhoudu understood. “The restaurant reservation is made. We can go straight there now.”
“Great. I’m hungry. That person cut hair so slowly and talked a lot.” Meng Weiyu covered his stomach in grievance.
“Then why do you like finding him to cut your hair?” Shen Zhoudu had completely arranged today’s itinerary according to Meng Weiyu’s usual preferences, including the hair salon, the place to eat, and the dishes he often ordered.
“You’re asking the current me. I don’t know why either.” Meng Weiyu touched his bangs.
“Let’s go.” Shen Zhoudu led the way toward the parking area.
Meng Weiyu followed his steps, poked his head out to look at him, and asked, “Do I look good?”
“You look good.” Shen Zhoudu answered without hesitation.
“Do I look good, or does the hairstyle look good?” Meng Weiyu asked narcissistically.
Shen Zhoudu helplessly turned back and glanced at him.
Meng Weiyu smiled and pointed at himself.
“The hairstyle looks good. You look even better.” The corners of Shen Zhoudu’s mouth lifted. These words were sincere, coming straight from his heart.
The city lights fell on the pedestrians in the street, flowing with color, brilliant and multicolored. Meng Weiyu looked at Shen Zhoudu and felt that he seemed to be someone from his memories, yet the person appearing before his eyes was also an entirely new image.
After eating dinner and returning home, Shen Zhoudu sat on the clean floor, tidying things from a paper box. A cat teaser wand was placed beside him, and he occasionally picked it up and shook it.
Xueci was nearby, kicking its little legs hard, chasing the cat teaser wand left and right, scratching at it with its paws.
“Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow!” It was playing very happily.
Shen Zhoudu saw the items he needed to organize and placed the cat teaser wand on the floor.
The cat teaser wand stopped moving, and the kitten’s footsteps stopped.
“Meow! Meow! Meow!” Xueci cautiously stopped beside the cat teaser wand and carefully touched it with its paw.
Why wasn’t it moving? Meow?
“Meow!” Xueci called Shen Zhoudu.
“Okay, okay, okay.” Shen Zhoudu was quite experienced in raising cats. He picked up the cat teaser wand and casually waved it twice, making Xueci excitedly jump around again. Then he cruelly placed the cat teaser wand down once more.
“Meow~” Are you going to play with me or not?
“Okay, okay, okay.” Shen Zhoudu spoke very gently, but his actions were very heartless. “Wait for me.”
“Meow!” The kitten knew it was being brushed off.
Footsteps came from the stairway.
Xueci raised its head, saw Meng Weiyu, and ran over like a wisp of smoke.
Meng Weiyu had just stepped onto the carpet when it rushed over to stage a collision and instantly clung to the top of Meng Weiyu’s foot. Meng Weiyu looked at the kitten meowing nonstop, raised his foot slightly, and successfully lifted it up.
“Meow!” Xueci’s fur puffed up as it cried loudly.
“Hahahaha.” Teasing cats really was fun. Meng Weiyu slowly lowered his foot.
After Xueci got down to the floor, it immediately circled around Meng Weiyu, using body language to express one message: Hurry up and play with me.
Meng Weiyu looked at Shen Zhoudu’s back and walked directly over.
“Meow, meow!” The kitten, unwilling to be lonely, closely followed beside Meng Weiyu’s feet, following him while touching him with its paws.
“Mm? Are you making trouble again?” Although Shen Zhoudu did not turn around, Xueci’s noisy cries were too loud.
A hand reached out from behind him and took the cat teaser wand.
Shen Zhoudu raised his head and glanced at Meng Weiyu.
Meng Weiyu held the cat teaser wand, mischievously lifted it high, and waved it back and forth.
Using its small body, Xueci jumped with all its strength, extremely excited as it tried to catch the moving bell.
“Hey,” Meng Weiyu called Shen Zhoudu while playing with the cat teaser wand.
“What?” Shen Zhoudu answered him.
“Do Grandpa and the others know I lost my memory?” Meng Weiyu asked.
“They know. Previously, when they heard you were in a car accident, they were burning with anxiety. I already explained everything.” Shen Zhoudu was meticulous in handling matters. “Your amnesia isn’t suitable to publicize everywhere, but under the current circumstances, Grandpa is helping you take care of the company. He had to know the details.”
“I’m worried that Grandpa and the others won’t be able to handle it when they see me like this.” Meng Weiyu had concerns.
Shen Zhoudu sighed, put down the item in his hand, and looked at Meng Weiyu.
Meng Weiyu held the cat teaser wand and waved it in front of Shen Zhoudu’s face.
Shen Zhoudu’s line of sight was not disturbed by the swaying feathers and bell. His eyes looked straight at him as he said, “Don’t worry. Grandpa and the others have very strong hearts.”
Meng Weiyu laughed and said frivolously, “Could they have been furious and shouting when I announced that I was marrying a man?”
“Pfft.” Shen Zhoudu was amused by his sentence, then turned his head. “Exactly as you said.”
“Hey.” Meng Weiyu took the cat teaser wand and waved it over Shen Zhoudu’s head again.
Shen Zhoudu helplessly gave up the work in his hands and turned to face Meng Weiyu.
Meng Weiyu used the cat teaser wand to tease Shen Zhoudu and joked, “Catch, catch.”
Shen Zhoudu’s eyes and hands were quick, and he swiftly pressed the cat teaser wand down.
“Tsk.” Boring.
“Ah meow.” Xueci had already run away. Nearby, it happily buried its face in the cat food.
Shen Zhoudu and Meng Weiyu sat together, opened two bottles of soda water, and started chatting.
“I think it would be better if I acted like my twenty-seven-year-old self.” Meng Weiyu thought this. “What do you think I should improve?”
Shen Zhoudu drank a sip of sparkling water, glanced at Meng Weiyu, and asked in confusion, “You want to act similar to your twenty-seven-year-old self?”
Meng Weiyu nodded.
“Then isn’t this already fine?” Shen Zhoudu said honestly. “It feels like there’s no difference.”
“No difference?!” Meng Weiyu’s volume rose uncontrollably because of shock.
Shen Zhoudu covered his ears.
“Ten years have passed, and you’re telling me I haven’t grown at all?” Meng Weiyu could not believe it.
Shen Zhoudu carefully glanced at Meng Weiyu, nodded, then fell into thought.
“That’s not right. How come I heard that I’m a mature adult with great leadership charisma, who handles things with ease and is popular with people?” Meng Weiyu anxiously turned around and urgently sought Shen Zhoudu’s approval.
Shen Zhoudu nodded, agreeing with Meng Weiyu’s words.
“Then why did you still say I haven’t changed at all…” Meng Weiyu said pitifully.
“But when you were seventeen, you were already someone with great leadership charisma, who handled things methodically and effortlessly, and everyone liked you. What’s the difference?” Shen Zhoudu thought this.
Hearing this, Meng Weiyu froze. Then he reached up and tugged at his bangs.
Shen Zhoudu smiled without a trace.
“You’re playing with me…” Meng Weiyu caught his fleeting smile. He clearly knew Shen Zhoudu was playing word games in front of him, but he still could not stop his cheeks from slowly turning red.
“I’m serious.” In Shen Zhoudu’s heart, Meng Weiyu had always been very charming.
“I know that in your heart, I’m supreme, omnipotent, holy, and shining over the earth.”
Meng Weiyu exaggerated his words, and Shen Zhoudu nodded along with “Mm, mm.”
“Give me some specific advice.” Meng Weiyu directly expressed what he needed.
“When you speak, use more imperative sentences.” Shen Zhoudu was concise and directly pointed out the key point.
“Imperative sentences?” Meng Weiyu hesitated.
Shen Zhoudu looked at him with genuine feeling.
“Give me your hand.” Meng Weiyu reached out to him.
Without hesitation, Shen Zhoudu obeyed the command and handed him his hand.
“Stand up,” Meng Weiyu ordered him.
Shen Zhoudu stood up in front of him, his hand still held by him.
“This is just the tone you use when playing games with me!” Meng Weiyu suddenly shook off his hand. He could not take it anymore. This man was completely useless.
“There’s more.” Shen Zhoudu told him a secret. “Your gesture when calling people over is different from most people’s. Your palm faces upward, and your finger hooks upward.”
Meng Weiyu wore a bored expression and, following Shen Zhoudu’s guidance, crooked his finger at him.
Shen Zhoudu smiled and grabbed his finger.
“You really are too useless.” Meng Weiyu’s vicious words were enough to chill someone for six months.
“There’s no need to worry so much in the first place.” Shen Zhoudu reassured him. “Tomorrow, the people you’re meeting are your grandparents and maternal grandparents. I’ll also be by your side. What is there to be troubled about?”
Hearing this, Meng Weiyu thought for a moment and suddenly felt that Shen Zhoudu’s words made a lot of sense. His eyes shone brightly as he looked at him.
Shen Zhoudu smiled back.
At this moment, Meng Weiyu absolutely did not expect that this was the greatest lie Shen Zhoudu had told him after he woke up.
By tomorrow, at the moment someone flipped the table during mealtime, several sides cursed each other out, and they forced Shen Zhoudu and Meng Weiyu to divorce, Meng Weiyu finally discovered that this was not some family banquet.
It was a real Hongmen Banquet.
